THE STORY
These 157 senior apartments set within a new master-planned community provide dignified and affordable age-inplace solutions for residents with mobility requirements and sensory impairments. Two horseshoe-shaped buildings with a combined central courtyard are designed with an insightful understanding of the needs of the aging demographics without compromising design and style.
Reflecting the early modern architecture of California's Irving Gill, the development’s bold massing of smooth plaster forms are accented by wood trim, grand entrance arches, and heavy timber trellis structures supported by stout columns.
This community offers amenities not typically associated with affordable housing. A yoga studio, cardio rooms, pool/spa, and Tai-Chi pavilion promote active lifestyles. Two parks for canine companions and accessible raisedbed gardening promotes outdoor activity for health and exercise. Quilting and painting rooms foster creativity. The community kitchen, lounge, and library with fireplace provide additional socialization spaces.
Two distinct roof decks promote diverse experiences. The northern roof deck promotes casual social interactions in a refined, calming atmosphere complete with a bar and lounging spaces. The southern roof deck provides space for communal dining with barbeques and casual seating.
This development fills a gap in affordable housing to maintain diversity in our communities.
